MindMarks Certification

MindMarks now offers Bias Mitigation and Equity Certification (BMEC). Certification requires completion of seven of the ten courses described below. The equity audit and retreat at the Kemet Estate are not required for certification for individuals, but recommended for organizations as a best practice.  Although the following sequence is recommended for individuals and organizations, each "Mark" or course can be taken as a self-contained unit. BenchMark

Learn the fundamentals of measuring, managing, and mitigating organizational bias. Recommended for all personnel regardless of role or rank.

EQUITY AUDIT: On-line, 20-minute, confidential survey that measures actual and perceived bias among employees as well as bias from employees toward customers, clients, and other external stakeholders. Results are used to create customized course content.

THE RETREAT: A transformational 3-4 day retreat experience with Dr. Marks and special guest speakers at the Kemet Estate in Atlanta, GA. 

GOALS OF THE RETREAT:

  • Development of a multi-year DEI/bias mitigation plan with deliverables, metrics, a budget, and responsible personnel.

  • Attendees will be able to articulate the business or mission case for identifying, managing, and mitigating both implicit and explicit bias.

  • Team bonding and trust building with coworkers and colleagues required for optimal execution of bias mitigation strategies.

  • A deeper understanding of the Civil Rights Movement, Atlanta’s role in it, and how it modeled bias avoidance and reduction.

*A variation of the retreat can be provided at a client's site.
